Jongga's Signature Green Onion Flavor

Jongga Green Onion Kimchi offers the distinct, pungent, and slightly sweet flavour characteristic of fresh green onions, perfectly fermented. Jongga utilizes a traditional fermentation process, ensuring a deep umami base that complements the sharp, vibrant taste of the scallions. This kimchi stands out due to its crisp texture and bold seasoning, capturing the essence of authentic Korean side dishes.

A Complex and Pungent Taste Profile

The flavour profile of Jongga Green Onion Kimchi is robust, balancing the natural sharp flavour of the onions with a rich blend of gochugaru (chili flakes), garlic, and fermented seafood notes. It delivers a satisfying spicy kick that is immediately tempered by the freshness of the main ingredient. The resulting taste is complex, making it a deeply satisfying accompaniment to almost any meal, showcasing excellent depth in its seasoning.

How to Enjoy

Jongga Green Onion Kimchi is ready to consume directly from the package, serving as an ideal banchan (side dish). For optimal enjoyment, serve it slightly chilled alongside warm rice, grilled meats like bulgogi or samgyeopsal, or incorporate it into stews like kimchi jjigae for an enhanced flavour base. Its strong flavour also pairs excellently with simple noodle dishes to add a powerful flavour dimension.

Frequently asked questions
```html
Does Jongga Green Onion Kimchi require any preparation or cutting before serving as a side dish?
The green onion stalks are generally left whole or cut into halves, as intended for wrapping or picking up. No further cutting is necessary unless individual pieces are desired for mixing into rice or noodles.
Green onion kimchi is often preferred in lighter, seafood-based stews like Haemul Sundubu Jjigae where its fresher, less dense flavor complements the seafood without overpowering it, unlike heavily fermented cabbage kimchi.
Rinsing the kimchi lightly under cold water for a few seconds removes excess seasoning paste. For a more subtle effect, mixing a small amount of sesame oil into the kimchi before serving can help mitigate the spiciness.
Green Onion Kimchi (Pa Kimchi) has a significantly stronger onion aroma and a crisp, slightly chewy texture. Mat Kimchi offers a milder fermentation flavor and a softer, more succulent cabbage texture.
Yes, it can be stir-fried (Pa Kimchi Bokkeum). Use high heat (around 180°C to 200°C) for a short duration (1-2 minutes) to heat thoroughly while preserving the fresh crispness of the green onions.
