Haruka rice is premium rice ideal for Sushi. It is a round grain rice with a lot of starch, which gives it a slightly sticky appearance, ideal to be seared with chopsticks. It is both soft and firm. Cooking Preparation: In a medium saucepan, mix 1 cup of Haruka rice and 1.5cup of water and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and simmer with lid on for about 20 minutes until all liquid has boiled away. Remove pot from heat and let stand covered for 10 minutes. Yields about 2.5 cups of cooked rice. Note: If you are using an electric rice stove, add 1 cup of Haruka rice and 1.5 cups of water to the rice stove and follow the rice stove instructions.
