Tim Anderson, MasterChef Champion Tim Anderson is a chef, author, and MasterChef champion. Born and raised in Wisconsin, he studied Japanese food culture and lived in Japan for two years. After moving to London, he won MasterChef in 2011, making him one of the UK's most well-known voices of Japanese food. In 2013 he opened the Japanese pop-up restaurant Nanban and at the end of 2015 the restaurant of the same name in the heart of Brixton, which according to Michelin is a successful mixture of ramen bar and izakaya.
