Sempio Ssamjang is a traditional Korean dipping paste that’s sweet, savory with a slight hint of spicy. Perfect accompaniment to fresh vegetable sticks. Pour it over hamburger or taco to use it like a savory salsa, add some chopped onion for fresher taste. For something more filling, use it in lettuce wraps with rice.

Ssamjang, Korean Soybean Dipping Paste is gluten-Free. Umami-rich Korean soybean dipping paste that works perfectly with fresh vegetables.

Since 1946, Sempio has been making soybean paste and soy sauce, accumulating soybean fermentation know-how for over 70 years.

Sempio finds delicious soybean pastes across the country, build a map of the taste of soybean paste, and realize the secrets of the soybean taste found in tradition, such as the traditional mortar method and the secret method of fermenting soybeans, to complete truly delicious soybean taste.

All products are produced in Yeongdong, Chungcheongbuk-do, a clean area. All ingredients, such as clean underground bedrock water, soybeans selected 7 times, and sun-dried salt from the clean sea, are strictly selected.

Korean beanpaste is similar to Japanese miso, which is a fermented food representing both Korea and Japan, but they are actually different.

Both miso and Korean beanpast were made by fermenting soybeans, but there is a difference between the two. Miso is one of the essential fermented foods for Koreans. Unlike the miso in Korea, Japanese miso is made by mixing leaven with soybean. The name of miso changes according to the ingredients of the yeast that goes into the beans.
